Location
Covering 100 Hectares, Bedarra Island is known as the ‘mother’ of the Family Islands Group which is located midway between Cairns and Townsville off the coast of Tropical North Queensland. The majority of guests access the island via regular domestic and international flights into Cairns, followed by a scenic flight to Dunk Island and a 20 minute launch transfer to your private hide-away. Getting There
Bedarra Launch: A 20 minute boat transfer service between Dunk Island and Bedarra Island operates daily and meets all flights into Dunk Island. Please Note: There are no transfers to Bedarra Island on Christmas Day.
Flight Transfers: Regular flights are available from all major capital cities to Cairns Domestic Airport with Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jetstar. This is followed by a scenic flight (approximately 45 minutes) to Dunk Island, offering spectacular views of the coast, the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding Islands. Transfer flights are operated by Hinterland Aviation, which operates out of Cairns airport. Sunpalm Coach transfers are provided from the main terminal at Cairns to Hinterland Aviation Terminal.
Baggage Allowance: Please note on the service from Cairns to Dunk Island passengers are restricted to one suitcase and one small carry-on item of hand luggage each. Soft suitcases are preferable. A limit of 32kg applies (subject to loading restrictions). Luggage storage facilities are available at the Hinterland Terminal.
Private Chauffeured Car Transfer: Limousine companies offer a meet/greet service from Cairns Airport and Cairns City to Mission Beach. Cars depart daily on demand and seat up to 3 passengers with luggage. Larger vehicles are also available. Your car transfer can connect with a Quickcat transfer to Dunk Island which departs to and from Mission Beach twice a day
Boat Launch Mission Beach – Dunk Island: The Quickcat departs from Clump Point Jetty at Mission Beach to Dunk Island Jetty. Mission Beach is approximately 2 hours by road south of Cairns. Transfer time is approximately 20 minutes.

Casual resort style clothing for daytime, smart casual after 6.00pm. Also include suitable foot ware for beach and island walks.
Tips for travelling to Bedarra Island
- Check in time is 2.00pm. If you are arriving before 2.00pm, they will endeavor to have your room ready for arrival. Luggage can be stored and guests are able to have full use of the resort until the room is ready.
- Credit card details will be required on arrival to set up room charge accounts. All major cards accepted. Limited foreign exchange and travellers cheque facilities
